Dubai Taxi Corporation’s Fleet Operational Proficiency Reaches to 96.39% during the First Half of 2013

The Dubai Taxi Corporation at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) carried out more than 20.2 million trips during the first half of this year, at the rate of approximately 3.3 million trips monthly, during which it transferred about 35.1 million passengers during the first half of 2013 at the rate of 5.8 million passengers per month, in addition to participating in a number of activities and events at the level of the Emirate of Dubai
 Mohammad Yousif Saleh, Dubai Taxi Corporation Director of Fleet Operations said regarding the special statistics of Fleet Operations that fleet operational efficiency reached to 95.38% in the first half of 2013, in addition to the total trips undertaken during the first half of 2013 are more than 20 million executed trips, stressing the readiness of the sections to meet the requirements and the daily needs of repairing and the maintenance and cleanliness of taxis affiliate numbered at  3,504 vehicles distributed on various services as follows: Airport Taxi, Hatta Taxi, Ladies Taxi, public taxi and In-Safe Hands service and people with special needs taxi .
 He added that as the company aims to improve the way of working and raising professional and technical efficiency of the workshop, all necessary supplies and services which contributes to increase operational efficiency and meet the requirements of security and safety and the environment.
 Director of Fleet Operations said a total of 58.876 thousand preventive maintenance were completed  in the first half of 2013 in the internal Agency workshop premises compared to 53,900 in 2012, an increase of 9% and 23.370 thousand maintenance treatment (correction) in 2013, an increase of up to 7.9% from the year 2012, a total of 98% of the total maintenance work that has been accomplished during the first half of this year internally, as has been fixed 86% of the total number of accidents were completed. Meanwhile, and regarding services, the maintenance offers what would develop the level of service and overall appearance of the vehicle, which in turn raises the level of satisfaction with the customer and within the services internal cleaning was done for up to 600 vehicles per month in addition to the daily washing process for vehicles where more than 1,500 vehicles are washed daily.
 
He stressed that in the context of the development of the skills of workers in the management, coordination with the strategic partners of the Agency to hold training courses for technicians working in the Agency's workshop to raise their efficiency and continuous development throughout the year that contributes to the development of work, which is reflected in the realization of the vision of the Agency "Leadership in Delivery of passengers Services."
 
Mr. Mohammad Yousuf  went on saying that the administration did a number of achievements and services, facilities and initiatives for clients in the previous period and also now a variety of services is being developed, including the In-Safe Hands service " VIP vhicle service" and "Mashaweer initiative", "Mashaweer intiative for Agency drivers rental for « companies and individuals » for a limited period of time within the specific criteria and the initiative of granting dealers "deferred payment vouchers" for the use of Agency's taxis.
 The administration also distributes Thank you card for drivers in order to raise the satisfaction of drivers and motivate and encourage them to adhere to the cleanness of the vehicle and the good treatment of customers at the workplace through field trips to the heads of departments and sections and specialists in the Agency of workplaces and fares where the driver can through this card participate in monthly draws that distributed as follows: the first winner AED 2500 and the second winner AED 1500 and AED 1000 for the third winner in addition to the development of the driver's weekly Excellence Award by which a draw for  the highest earned driver for the three drivers to win cash prizes.
Mr. Mohammad Yousif added that the Administration is working to implement programs to rationalize expenditures in maintenance and repairing vehicles by using means to repair
Mr. Mohammad Yousif that the administration is working to implement programs to rationalize expenditure in the maintenance and repair of vehicles through the use of means to repair repairable parts in addition to encouraging staff to use security and safety tools in their daily work. In addition, work is under process on the installation of sensors in all taxis in order to control vehicles and ensure the right of the customers and to reduce some of the complaints and negative comments from drivers where the appliances have been installed in 175 taxi vehicles up till now.

The Director of Fleet Operations stated that the tourist taxi project has been recently launched which turns the taxi driver into a tourist guide in collaboration with the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) in Dubai and driver are currently subject to training as the number of graduates in this project reached 1590 drivers.
